a week agoAs 2024 finally came to a close, we started a new family tradition with our first ever PYH Squirt Holiday Hockey Festival. Oh what a scrimmage it was!
In the midst of all the wonder and cookies and joy of the season, these determined kiddos leaped at the chance to to deck the halls with 2 additional wins and a partridge in a pear tree against Chittenden South Burlington (AA) and even managed to ring in the new year with a quick little jaunt to Rome, NY where they celebrated 2 more!
Way to finish strong, Jr Cards!

a week agoWhat a great run we had at the snowy Miracle Holiday Classic! Caleb set the tone right out of the gate with a 5-0 win over the New Jersey Rockets. Colt "followed suit" with a 2-1 win against the Buffalo Bison. The next day Maverick worked his tail off in net fending off the relentless Haverford Hawks [L: 1-6]. And just like we always do, we finished strong and took home the bronze thanks to Max's hat trick in a miraculous 8-0 win against the Canadaigua Knights!

a month agoWe went on a bear hunt this weekend with two consecutive double headers. After a road trip with rough conditions against the ferocious Central Vermont Black Bears, we recovered on Sunday and managed to track down a tie and a honey pot of win at home against the Rome Grizzlies (5-4).
P.S. Hope you get a new stick for Christmas, Ella!

a month agoMad respect to the 10U Junior Cards who brought their "eh" game to the CAN/AM tournament in Montreal! Their determination and never-give-up attitude truly shone through as they battled to the end winning the championship game (4-3) in sudden death against the Vaughan Panthers.INCROYABLE!

a month agoTwo Double Headers and a Cardinals Teddy Bear Toss! In our second match up against the Vermont Jr. Catamounts this season, Max Studley delivered 3 goals right on time to lead us to a 9 -1 [W] before passing the MVP chain to Goalie Mav Rivers who valiantly defended double digit shots on goal for an 11-3 [W]. The kids then blew off some steam Saturday night at the Cardinals vs. Morrisville game with the time-honored tradition of the Teddy Bear toss.
Sunday morning we faced Saratoga where Gaborick Secore did more than earn his keep with 3 hard fought goals that resulted in a 9-2 [W]. We finished a jam-packed weekend with Max Rabideau and the rest of the team battling down to the very end in a 4-3 victory. Now go and stand tall in Montreal, Junior Cards!

2 months agoMaverick, Greyson & Ella showcased exactly what the 10U Junior Cards are made of this weekend as they stood tall and battled their way to sweeping victories against the Malone Huskies (Win: 11-1), Massena Raiders (Win: 15-0) and Chazy Selects (Win: 8-1). Tough as nails and ready to prove it again next weekend against the Jr Catamounts & Saratoga. Let the games begin…

2 months agoGoalie Maverick Rivers selected defenseman Carson Taskin as player of the game versus Schenectady this morning. He was thankful for his teammate’s back-checking, 2 goals and an assist. Nice work!
In our second game against St. Albans, Carson Taskin passed the torch to Louis Tremblay. Big Lou did an awesome job of helping the team all day and even managed to put points on the board in both games!

2 months agoBirthday boy Maverick Rivers worked extra hard in net this morning and made some beautiful saves against the Hamburg Hawks.
Overall, it was a phenomenal weekend for our Jr Cards even though it was cut short with 3 wins and a loss, but trust and believe we will be back, Utica… and stronger than ever!

2 months ago“Can’t nobody step on my pride, can’t nobody hold me down…”
Greyson Moffat clearly kept on moving against the Long Island Rebels this morning. No matter how hard they tried, they couldn’t keep this bright star from shining and scoring two well played goals!

2 months agoPlayer of the game Brody VanNederynen chosen by Ella Monahan. Brody had a great game full of hustle! Stole the puck from Blue Knight’s defense to score his 1st goal of the season unassisted and got the monkey off his back. Brody also had a sweet pass to Louis Tremblay who sniped it post and in to give the Jr. Cardinals a 2-1 lead in the 2nd period. All the Jr. Cardinals played great and pulled out a squeaker to win 3-2.

6 days agoThis past weekend we had double the fun with a roadtrip down to Albany for a Saturday morning win (2-1) and a pit stop at Red Robin, followed by an intense second 6-4 win against the Bethlehem Eagles. Player of the game went to Greyson Moffat followed by Caleb Chase who both consistently leave it all on the ice every single game.
Then on Sunday those pesky AA Central Vermont Black Bears came to town for yet another exciting double header matchup. Game one ended in a thrilling 5-5 tie. Later that afternoon, the kids started out slow but steady and then rallied strong in the second and third period to take a convincing 8-5 win. Player of the Game honors were bestowed on Parker Janisewski and Liam Hrnjic for their grit and determination.
